About Navassa Island
Navassa (Navassa Island English, French La Navase, Haitian: Lanavaz or lavash) is a small island in the Caribbean between Haiti and Jamaica. Geography
The uninhabited island, which belongs to the Lesser Antilles, situated in the central Caribbean and has a arel of approximately 5.3 square kilometers and its highest point is about 65 meters above sea level. The island has mostly low vegetation.
History
The island was probably discovered in 1504 by Spanish sailors, led by Christofer Columbus.
