Egypt is famous for its pyramids which Cheops Pyramid is the largest with a height of approx. 146 meters. It has long been a mystery how the Egyptians for thousands of years ago you could build these huge buildings, but a good knowledge of mathematics was a prerequisite.

The first pyramid in Egypt, Djoser pyramid, was built in Saqqara since Djoser ruled. The largest and most famous of all pyramids are Cheops pyramid. King Khufu reigned from ca. 2589 to 2566 BC, and although there was built on his pyramid in all these years, it was not finished when he died. Cheops pyramid was a great edifice. Were used over two million stone blocks, each weighing between two and five tons. The blocks were dragged up the long banks of earth all the way to top of the pyramid. Each block had to be dragged and pushed into a sled of hundreds of people. When the great pyramid was finished, the exterior covered in white limestone slabs, so it could shine in the sun and seen from afar. The entrance to the burial chamber was covered with large boulders, so it was hidden. It was created false times, so thieves would get lost and die if they tried to break graves. To avoid grave robbers, few who knew where the pyramid king’s tomb lay.
