Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a country in South Asia. It was formerly known (before 1971) East Pakistan. India is bordered to the west, north and east and Myanmar to the east. To the south lies the Indian Ocean.

Bangladesh is a relatively new country that has had a turbulent life of dictatorship and democracy since 1992. Until 1947 the country was a part of British colonial rule. After the British withdrawal India was divided into Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan. Bangladesh was then East Pakistan, while what is today known as Pakistan, called West Pakistan. Bangladesh became independent in 1971.

History

The first signs of activity in 2000 BC The region was settled by dravidianske, Tibet-Burman, and East-Asian people.

Gangaridai kingdom was formed from at least the seventh century BC, which later united with Bihar under the Magadha, Nanda, Mauryan and Sunga empire. Bengal was later part of Gupta and Harsha Empire from the third to the sixth century. Then it collapses, a dynamic Bengali named Shashanka found an isolated yet short-lived kingdoms. Shashanka think you are the first king in the history of Bangladesh. after a period of anarchy, controlled Buddhist Pala dynasty region for four hundred years, then a shorter time during the Hindu Sena dynasty.

Islam was introduced to Bengal in the 12th century by the Arab Muslim rich folk and Sufi missionaries, and Muslim invasions helps to spread Islam outside the region. Bakhtiar Khilji, a General Turkisk, losing to Lakshman Sen of the Sena dynasty and large parts of Bengal in the year, 1204th Reg was ruled by dynasties of the Sultan and landowners Bhuiyan for some of the next hundred years. In 16th century, the Mughal Empire controlled Bengal, and Dhaka pins a huge provinssielt market center during the Mughal administration.
